The Westerbeke 8.0 BTD is a compact, four-cycle diesel marine generator that runs AC loads — water heater, galley, outlets and battery charging — at anchor or underway.

Running it

Open the raw-water seacock before starting — check for flow at the exhaust.
Pre-heat, start, let it warm before loading.
Shift the AC panel source from shore to generator.
Watch oil pressure, temperature and volts on the panel.
Cool down unloaded for a few minutes before shutdown.
